Apex Legends Mobile: Unleash Punishment event guide

Story? In a multiplayer shooter? (pic: Metro.co.uk)

Apex Legends Mobile is filled with different events to take on through the current season, with the main one focusing on the new hero Fade.

Fade, the new playable hero in Apex Legends Mobile is exclusive to the portable version of the game, with the console and PC versions not even getting a whiff of the teleporting killer.

As with many mobile or free-to-play games, events allow players to earn rewards by completing different tasks. Fortnite and Call Of Duty frequently refresh the list of tasks to take on, as does Apex Legends and its mobile companion.

The Unleash Punishment event is all about Fade, with skins and different cosmetics to acquire for use in-game. These are locked behind Fade Chips, which you’ll need to play the game to find and which you can only get one of a day.

How to get Fade Chips

To find Fade Chips you’ll first need to head into any matchmade game of your choice. You can’t do the tutorial or free-range mode to get these, it must be a multiplayer match. Once in a game, simply go about your business trying to win, but make sure to pay attention to the different loot boxes littered around the maps.

Fade Chips can be found in amongst the regular loot you get from these boxes, so if you have the auto-loot on, you might miss what you’ve picked up. If you do, just head into the Warehouse section in the main menu to see what you’ve acquired.

The Fade Chips will be collectable for 12 days (May 17 – May 28) and after that, the free way to collect the items will be gone until Respawn and EA decide to put the event back on again.

Irritating as it is, especially with – at the time of writing – two days lost, you can only get one a day. Each chip will reward you with either an in-game reward or part of Fade’s story. With this in mind, here’s what you can get from the event, despite the days lost:

  • 2,000 Season Currency
  • Fade’s Story 1
  • Banner Tracker (Ultimate Ability)
  • Fade’s Story 2
  • Common Apex Pack
  • Fade’s Story 3
  • 3,000 Season Currency
  • Fade’s Story 4
  • Banner Tracker (Flash Back)
  • Fade’s Story 5
  • Unwavering Focus Fade skin
  • Fade’s Story 6
