Amanda Holden and her fellow Britain’s Got Talent judges were left horrified after an audition seemed to go very wrong and a crew member was engulfed in flames on stage.

Auditionee Steve Rawlings had attempted a blind-folded fire juggling act, but actually set fire to his covered head and, when a crew member rushed on to help him, he was then also set alight.

The crew member dropped to the floor and rolled around to try and put out the flames which were covering his body, before another crew member ran in to the rescue with a fire extinguisher.

While the audience members were questioning at first whether the frightful scene was part of an act or ‘real’, the judges looked on in horror.

Afterwards, the crew member did assure Ant and Dec that he was okay, while viewers took to social media to share their shock at the audition.

‘Britain’s Got Talent just casually including a crew member rolling around on fire in a montage like its the most normal thing in the world,’ one person penned on Twitter.

‘Wtf someone from the crew on BGT just got lit on fire,’ another wrote, while a third person shared: ‘A crew person got lit on fire and they still aired it -what?-‘

The audition clip, which had formed a part of a montage of dangerous acts, was aired before a ‘human action man’ left the judges completely stunned after his audition.

Tulga, 37, performed tricks with a 40kg plank of wood and left those watching impressed by his dangerous audition as the performer balanced the giant plank of wood with both ends engulfed in flames and twirled it around using his shoulders.

He then went a step further and balanced it using his mouth before throwing it up in the air and catching it.

As if that wasn’t dangerous enough, Tulga, dangling from the ceiling, held the flaming plank of wood connected to a chain in between his teeth, much to the shock and surprise of the judges and viewers.

Giving him a standing ovation, Simon Cowell began the judges’ comments: ‘That’s how you do it Tulga, that’s just how you do it,’ while one viewer was heard saying: ‘He’s a madman.’

Britain’s Got Talent continues next Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
