The Channel 5 presenter was knocked off his bike on Monday morning and dashed in an ambulance.
Dan, 45, has kept his followers updated throughout the day, sharing snaps of his injuries and stating that he felt ‘glad to be alive.’
As a result of the accident, Dan was replaced on tonight’s news, with Tessa Chapman standing in.
While ending the night’s programme, she sent her love to her colleague in a sweet message.
Tessa said: ‘All of the team wish him a quick recovery and send him all of our best wishes.
‘Get well soon, Dan.’
His fellow TV stars have also sent their love throughout the day, with the likes of Motsi Mabuse, Sally Biddulph, Mark Clemmit, and Simon Vigar all wishing him well.
Sharing the news of his accident earlier today, Dan first posted pictures from inside the ambulance on Twitter.
‘Bit of an accident this morning. Glad to be alive after getting hit by a car on my bike,’ the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant penned.
‘Face is a mess but I don’t think anything is broken. Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for sorting me out and the lovely copper at the scene.
‘This is my smiling 😂 Thankful for our NHS ❤️.’
The broadcaster has since returned home, expressing his gratitude for those who have wished him well in his recovery.
Posting a picture from his house, the star showed his bruised eye and bloody face, as well as scratches on his hands and a white shirt that has definitely seen better days.
‘Battered and bruised but – amazingly – nothing broken. Very thankful to still be here,’ he wrote on social media.
But, Dan still managed to flash a thumbs up!
‘I have no memory of anything and just remember coming round on the tarmac with paramedics & police around me’, he wrote.
‘Thanks for all your kindness. Jamie & Shaun were so great in the ambulance – not sure I was making much sense’, he added with a selfie from the hospital.
‘Thanks to Conor the copper, Charlotte in x-ray & Hannah (below) for being so considerate & brilliant in such a busy A & E’.
Dan then stated that the helmet he was wearing ‘saved my life’, urging fellow cyclists to also ‘get one on your head’.
‘Smashed my watch & phone, ruined my trousers, my bike is a mess but I’m still here’, he assured.
‘Currently eating soup through a straw and being looked after by this gorgeous, tired nurse’, he signed off, alongside a picture of his adorable dog.
