Mamelodi Sundowns get their 2022/22 CAF Champions League group stages campaign underway this afternoon against Al-Hilal.

Rhulani Mokwena’s side hold healthy lead in the DStv Premiership but today’s challenge will give them a good idea of what level they’re at.

“[The] Champions League is important for Mamelodi Sundowns football club especially with the objectives set.” Rhulani Mokwena said.

“This season we plan to try our best to win every match and competition. Al-Hilal is doing very well in the league and we’ve managed to get a little bit of their videos against Simba SC and Azam FC.

“We know we have to play against a good side with impressive physical profiles that their players have, including their speed on counterattacks when they sit on a low block.”
