Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is in Talks to Join The Boys Cast

The Boys boss Eric Kripke reveals that Supernatural and The Walking Dead actor Jeffery Dean Morgan is in talks for Season 4 of the Prime Video series.

The Walking Dead‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan may be reuniting with The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke in Season 4 of the Prime Video series.

Kripke has revealed that the actor, who also starred in Kripke’s series Supernatural, is in early talks to make an appearance in The Boys‘ recently announced fourth season. “Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a superfan of [The Boys], so he and I are talking,” the showrunner told E! News. “We’re trying to figure out something for season four. Nothing finalized yet, but he and I are chatting and e-mailing and seeing it we can make it work with his busy schedule. So, stay tuned on that.”

The Supernatural creator has been trying to get Morgan to appear on the dark-comedy satire series for several years now, having previously worked with him during Kripke’s time running The CW series. Morgan played the father of series protagonists Sam and Dean Winchester, the latter of whom was portrayed by The Boys‘ Jensen Ackles. Supernatural premiered on The CW in 2005 and went on to air for 15 seasons before ending in 2020.

In May 2022, Kripke revealed that Morgan would not be appearing in The Boys‘ third season due to his busy schedule. “[Morgan is] currently the lead, along with [fellow Supernatural alum] Lauren Cohan, on the Walking Dead spinoff,” he said at the time. “So, schedule-wise, I don’t know. We might still remain star-crossed, unfortunately, because I did ask. We had a role come up, and my first question was, ‘Well, is Jeffrey available?'”

First appearing in The Walking Dead in the show’s controversial sixth season finale, titled “Last Day on Earth,” Morgan would go on to play Negan for several more seasons until it was announced that he and Cohan would be reprising their Walking Dead characters in an upcoming series titled Isle of the Dead. “…It’s gonna blow your minds,” Morgan wrote about the spinoff series in a recent tweet. “I repeat, BLOW YOUR FUCKING MINDS.”
