Jeremy Vine shouted out when a double-decker bus whizzed past his bicycle on Tuesday.

The presenter, who is an avid cyclist, shared the footage on social media at the beginning of the week and noted that the close call took place just before 6.30am.

Posting the video on Twitter, Jeremy, 57, wrote: ‘What the hell,’ and in the clip, could be seen approaching the bus’ driver when the vehicle came to a standstill.

The veteran TV star – who often shares footage of his bicycle journeys on social media – was decked out in a fluorescent helmet and a reflective jacket when pedalling through the capital.

In a follow-up post, Jeremy shared the footage from an alternative angle and could be seen with his mouth agape as the bus sped by.

Last year, Jeremy was seen sporting a black eye after falling from his penny-farthing.

Showing off his eye, he said at the time: ‘There’s the black eye, if you want to take a little look at that. It was a proper shiner.

‘Basically, I was ok. I was out yesterday on it because I was trying to work out exactly what went wrong.’

Jeremy was eight feet off the ground when he came flying off his bicycle, and thankfully was on grass with no one around when disaster struck.

He said in a video message at the time: ‘I didn’t see the divot, my front wheel went into it and I went over the handlebars and landed on my head’.

Doctors at A&E warned Jeremy he could have ended up seriously injured and claimed they’d never actually written on a form for any patient before: ‘Was riding a penny-farthing.’

Louise Cheeseman, Director of Buses at TfL told in a statement: ‘The footage of this incident is very concerning. We demand the highest standards of London’s bus drivers and we are working with the operator, Arriva, who are carrying out an urgent investigation.’
