Junior Andre’s music career is only going from strength to strength, as he’s bagged himself a pretty big gig.
The young star – whose parents are Katie Price and Peter Andre – signed a record deal last year, hoping to follow in the footsteps of the Mysterious Girl hitmaker.
And he seems to be doing alright so far, as the 17-year-old’s first single Slide shot to the top of the charts within hours of its release, surpassing Harry Styles and Lady Gaga.
He went on to book a slot on the line-up at Camp Bestival music festival this August, and has now secured another performance.
The teen will join Love Island’s Antigoni Buxton as a support act for Hrvy at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Saturday, April 22.
Announcing the news to his 536k Instagram followers, Junior wrote: ‘Can’t wait for this. Wanna see you all there!! Check my story for ticket details 🙏’
His fans were quick to congratulate him, as one commented: ‘I’d only go to this just to see u 😂’
‘Great job Junior! Good luck! 😍’, penned another.
Auntie Sophie Price – Katie’s sister – also commented: ‘Well done J brilliant news ❤️’
His family have been behind him all the way, with dad Pete, 50, previously expressing his pride for Junior carving a career for himself in music.
He even likened Junior to his younger self while reminiscing on This Morning in celebration of his 30 years as a musician.
’Do you know what, it’s mad, when you showed that clip with me – I was just going to say, Junior – I thought, it literally reminded me of Junior,’ he said.
However, the Aussie star did have reservations about his eldest venturing into the spotlight.
‘They’re great kids, I’m so lucky,’ Peter told Metro.co.uk earlier this year, chatting about his son and daughter Princess, 15.
‘Being teenagers, and they’re so respectful and they’re so nice and they’re humble. And if they are like that, I’ve got no worries.’
Quickly U-turning, he corrected himself to add: ‘I mean, that’s not true. I’m a dad, of course, I worry every minute of the day.’
Pete has also revealed that Junior will release his second and third singles this year, as well as an album, promising that 2023 will be ‘a big year for him.’
Not only that, but the singer turns 18 in June, which is sure to make Pete wonder where the time has gone.
‘I’m so proud of how far both of them have come and can’t wait to see what else they achieve,’ he added sweetly.
Meanwhile, daughter Princess is rumoured to be venturing into fashion after reportedly signing a PrettyLittleThing deal, but Pete is certain it won’t interfere with her studies, as the budding influencer sits hr GCSEs this year.
In his latest column for New Magazine, the father-of-four wrote: ‘It’s been a crazy week for Princess with studying for exams and offers coming in from certain brands.
‘She gets asked to do stuff all the time, but she’s just doing bits here and there. Nothing that interferes with schoolwork, I’m pretty strict about that.’
