Laura Anderson has no time for the ‘bump police’.
The 2018 Love Island star, 33, confirmed last month that she is expecting her first child with ex Gary Lucy.
Laura met the Footballers Wives actor, 41, on Celebs Go Dating last year, but they have since confirmed that they’ve separated, but plan to co-parent once their baby arrives.
And while Laura has enjoyed documenting her pregnancy online, she’s fed up with people telling her to keep her hands off her blossoming belly.
The mum-to-be has been soaking up the sun in the Maldives, and shared a series of glowing snaps in front of a dreamy sunset, in which she cradled her bump.
However, she was expecting some trolling, as she began in her caption: ‘Cue the bump police 🙈’
Laura continued to her 1.5million Instagram followers: ‘To the people that have some weirdly negative connotation with woman cradling their baby bump- I unfortunately will be growing a human inside of me for the next 5months and will more than likely not know where else to put my hands in a photo 😂’
She then urged anyone in ‘severe distress or discomfort’ to ‘please seek professional help’ or ‘just get a life’.
Laura went on in her rant: ‘It is quite disturbing the amount of trolling a pregnant woman receives just by breathing these days.
‘I’m not sure if people realise the stress they can cause BOTH parties.’
Getting cryptic about her recent love split, she penned: ‘I know I’ve felt it, especially while going through a distressing break up which nobody actually knows the truth about.
‘So lets back off and give mothers the peace and respect they deserve to focus on the physical and mental well-being of themselves and their unborn bundle of joy✌🏼’
The influencer was met with a wealth of support in the comments.
‘I think you look stunning & one of my biggest regrets was not taking any pics of me cradling my baby bump 😢 enjoy every moment, share what you want to share & ignore anyone that makes you feel anything less than blessed ❤️’, one mum wrote.
‘Don’t let them get you down enjoy your pregnancy and keep cradling your bump ❤️ you’re too nice @lauraanderson1x you should speak your truth let people know what you’re dealing with xx’, another commented.
‘Bump police 😂😂 you look fabulous xxx’, complimented another.
Laura’s post comes after she admitted she ‘definitely’ wasn’t on good terms with expectant father Gary.
Laura had initially included Gary’s Instagram tag on her pregnancy announcement but later removed it, and has since publicly denied that they broke up because she had asked him to move to Scotland.
Gary has four children with ex-wife Natasha Gray, with the family residing in Essex, and Laura has now confirmed she and Natasha have spoken about her child being a part of the blended family and embracing their half-siblings.
The pregnant reality star then opened up on her former relationship in an Instagram Q&A with fans, and when asked if there was any chance of reconciliation with Gary now they were to become parents together, she answered decisively: ‘No.’
And as for whether they were on good terms? ‘Definitely not.’
Coming close to tears when one fan asked how she herself was doing, Laura admitted it had been ‘a very stressful few months but the only way is up.’
