Love Island viewers sent virtual hugs to Tom Clare tonight after Casey O’Gorman’s departure left him in tears.

During Tuesday’s episode, the islanders were asked to gather round the firepit, which meant that a villa dumping was imminent.

Tanya Manhenga, Shaw Muhammad, Jessie Wynter, Will Young, Rosie Seabrook and Casey found themselves in the bottom three, but it was the end of the road for Rosie and Casey.

As the couple were packing to leave, professional footballer Tom couldn’t hold back the tears as bestie Casey, aka 1/3 of the three musketeers, headed back to the UK.

Fans couldn’t help but express their sympathy towards the 23-year-old, with one person tweeting: ‘Nah tom crying has my heart melted.’

‘WHY AM I CRYING FOR TOM,’ another enthused.

Speaking about his plans post-Love Island, Casey explained that he couldn’t wait to introduce Rosie to his friends and family.

‘I think that’s number one on my priority list. I need approval from my mum! I’m just super excited to see where things go on the outside.’

Addressing whether he’ll reach out to former flame Claudia Fogarty, he added: ‘I would love to chat with Claudia. I hate the thought of there being bad blood, it’s not what I’m about.

‘The fact she left and I wasn’t able to clear the air and really say sorry for making her have a go at me like that, it’s not nice. She let everything out to me, which is fair enough as I made her feel sh**.’

Elsewhere, bombshell Rosie explained that she found the Claudia and Casey saga a little difficult to handle.

‘Once Casey made his decision I felt relieved and it was nice that my feelings were reciprocated, butI also felt guilt for Claudia,’ she said.

‘I got on with her really well and on the outside I definitely am a girls’ girl. I considered her feelings as well as mine.’

Love Island returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
