The saga surrounding midfielder Sipho Mbule at SuperSport has recently taken a new twist after he was suspended indefinitely by the club, but it has since been revealed that he was placed in a ‘special programme’ aimed at physical and mental wellbeing.
Already when speaking to SAFM last year, SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews said Mbule’s ill-discipline is the reason he would not be sold to any club at that stage, despite having reportedly been on the radar of both Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in this past January transfer window.

Yet, Matthews revealed earlier this month that discipline issues were the reason behind the player still being absent from training, while later he reiterated that Mbule is not in the right head space, was unreliable and would not feature again for the club.
Some reports have suggested the latest bout of ill-discipline related to the fact he would arrive late – or not at all – when it came to training sessions, while some sources suggest he had a fallout with former coach Kaitano Tembo, which included a “confrontation”.
In yet another twist, KickOff.com reported that Mbule could be set to sensationally move from SuperSport to Sundowns in a swap deal.
However, other reports have hinted that a dream move to Kaizer Chiefs could also be in the pipelines once again, although his agent Mike Makaab seemed to have recently suggested that Amakhosi haven’t been showing their intent.

In the latest report on SABC Sport, Makaab has provided a further update, confirming that Mbule will soon have a new club.
“I am confident that by the end of the month we would have finalised a deal with another football club because I have been given the blessings by Stan Matthews to go ahead,” Makaab told SABC Sport.
“I don’t want to disrupt any of the clubs now because it’s the last games of the (DStv Premiership) league – after the Nedbank Cup (on 28 May) I will then engage the clubs I have to engage. Hopefully we can come to some sort of finality.”
Mbule is now working with a physical trainer and sports psychologist
Interestingly, Makaab also recently revealed what is being done to to get the player back into the best possible shape.
“I’m not 100% sure where we start but one thing I can tell you about those who are concerned about Sipho; we have him in a special program – both with a sports psychologist and with a physical trainer.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that come pre-season, Sipho will be ready to fight for a place in his new team. He’s certainly not going to be sitting in the stands for two years.”
