Amid multiple arrests in Hawaii, The Flash star Ezra Miller faces more legal trouble as the actor is accused of stealing music from two collaborators.

Music producer Oliver Ignatius and rapper Ghais Guevara disclosed to Rolling Stone that Miller published a piece they collaborated on without credit or approval. After the musicians agreed to work on a musical project with Miller, the process largely fell apart when the actor reacted with an “aggressive temper tantrum” over one of Ignatius’ songs. After Ignatius departed, he alleges that Miller leaked the unfinished tracks online, posting the music on SoundCloud and sharing the link on their Instagram. “What Ezra did was commit an … extremely unethical and hurtful act,” Ignatius said. “They stole from artists that have fewer resources than them but maybe have art that Ezra wants… The person I thought I knew was a much gentler soul than the person that we’re seeing right now. It’s been a very concerning journey.”
The producer then reasoned on working with the actor as a “musical and spiritual life raft” for a friend. “We all had high hopes that it was going to be a project that was beautiful, that was going to be meaningful for us. But it didn’t really pan out that way,” he added, referring to Miller’s recent arrest for allegedly threatening to kill a couple in Hawaii.
“They seemed to be heading out into deep waters,” Ignatius explained. “They were going through a scorched earth-type fallout with their Hollywood career. They were severing many of the relationships in their life and seemed to be on a very dangerous spiral.”
While Guevara was paid for his participation in creating the tracks, both he and Ignatius intend on taking Miller to court. The producer insists that he owns the rights to the song’s masters, suggesting that he may file for further damages against The Flash star. Ignatius concluded by stating he had spoken with Miller following the incident but said that the meeting was “personal and nothing good nor conciliatory.”
Miller made headlines in early 2022 after the DC Extended Universe actor was arrested in Hawaii following a complaint of disorderly conduct. A day after they were detained, a restraining order was filed against Miller by a couple who insisted that the actor threatened to kill them. Less than a month later, Miller was arrested again on the grounds of second-degree assault. Despite the controversy, Warner Bros. currently has no plans to replace them as the DCEU’s Barry Allen.
The Flash will release in theaters on June 23, 2023.
