The drummer, 47, returned to Instagram after his operation having announced his hospital visit prior to his followers before going under the knife.
Thanking fans for their support during his procedure, her revealed it had been a ‘success’ and uploaded two images, one of which showed his ring finger being operated on.
He penned a lengthy caption of gratitude to his Instagram page and offered fans a glimpse of his recovery.
Travis wrote: ‘Thank you for all the love and prayers and understanding this week as I went into surgery.
‘It was a hard decision to make but ultimately I couldn’t continue to play the drums without it. It was inevitable that my finger would have dislocated again without fixing the torn ligament surgically.
‘So grateful for Dr. Shin and that my surgery was a success so that I can keep doing what I love and see you guys on tour soon (trigger warning: last photo is hard to look at) [sic]’.
His wife Kourtney Kardashian also took to social media to share a photo of her beau in a hospital bed, writing: ‘thank you God, amen,’ above it.
Friends and fans offered their well-wishes in the comments and urged the Blink-182 drummer to make a speedy recovery.
Steve Aoki typed: ‘Sending prayers my brother’, while American rapper Yelawolf posted: ‘Love ya bro !!! you’ll be back on stage in no time !!! [sic]’.
‘You will overcome, per usual… you are a f***ing warrior!!! Much love bro!! [sic],’ was another fan’s response to the musician’s pictures.
The artist shared his plans to have surgery on his finger on Monday, stating that he damaged his ring finger twice in the last month.
He explained it had happened during rehearsals with his band for their upcoming All The Small Things reunion tour.
Showing off more graphic images of his injured body part, the drummer posed for a selfie and added the caption: ‘Surgery tomorrow,’ with the fingers crossed emoji.
The operation came after Travis tweeted on February 8: ‘I was playing the drums at rehearsals yesterday and I smashed my finger so hard I dislocated it and tore the ligaments.’
He since revealed he would be missing shows in South America to heal and apologised to heartbroken fans online: ‘South America I love you and I’m so sorry I can’t make these shows [sic]’.
Blink-182’s tour is now set to begin on May 4 rather than the originally scheduled March date.
