Vanessa Feltz was determined to prove her recent breakup wasn’t getting her down as she debuted a new hair-do on Thursday.
The broadcaster, 60, announced her split from fiancé Ben Ofoedu, 50 – who she had been with for 16 years – following infidelity rumours.
Despite her public heartbreak, the This Morning host bundled herself off to the salon for a fresh new look and showed off the finished product to followers on Instagram.
Alongside a smiley clip of the star at the hairdressers, she penned the caption: ‘Fix that Barnet!! [sic]’.
The footage showed the newly single presenter holding her phone selfie-style as she offered fans some post-breakup advice.
Vanessa was heard saying: ‘Morning, I’m at the hairdresser, and I’m thinking, “when all else fails get that barnet fixed”, so that is what I’m doing.’
She showed off her new blonde locks on her Instagram story after posting up a storm while awaiting her transformation in the stylist’s chair.
Beaming, the morning television star appeared to be in great spirits as she proved she was taking her recent split in her stride.
Following the news of her newly-found singledom, Vanessa updated listeners of her TalkTV drive time show of her current feelings.
She ensured them that despite the overwhelming ‘sadness’ and ‘shock’, she refused to let it get the best of her.
Vanessa explained: ‘People who have been reading about my private life over the weekend will know that my 16-year relationship has come to an end.
‘I have said, I’m very sad. I’m very shocked, but I am going to soldier forth. I hope to rise like a phoenix from the ashes and all of that.
‘Meanwhile, I’m feeling that brokenhearted thing, you know where your heart hurts.
‘You know, you feel as if you know the blood’s kind of stopping pumping halfway round.
‘Then you kind of take a bit of a breath and shake a little bit, then it starts pumping again.’
During her agony aunt segment on This Morning earlier this week, the star appealed to audience members for any advice they may have on healing after heartbreak.
She expressed: ‘I would love it if people called in and told me how they got over heartbreak.
‘I’ll take any advice I can get, from anyone, if anyone wants help I’ll be there for them but also if anyone has anything they can tell me.
‘I’d be really grateful to recieve it, because I feel like I’m in the eye of the storm, I really do.’
